Many friends and classmates

Teachers and counselors too

Have more faith and trust in me

Than my parents, the two of you



You’re never really satisfied

And perfect I can’t be

My heart breaks a bit more

A teacher once pulled me out of class

And told me to be strong

He was afraid of what I might do

And told me what was wrong



He knew I was under pressure

He knew what I was going through

But all those tears I had cried

Of that he also knew



What’s sad isn’t the grades

It’s when kids finally crack

From the heavy weight of stress

Committing suicide, never looking back



Those wise words hit me hard

He understood my fears

Yet he hadn’t known me long

And you have for fourteen years



Be proud and be satisfied

I’m as perfect as I can be

Just give some freedom

With my friends I’ll be happy
